Sophie Howard

Sophie Howard is a central defender with extensive international experience. Born in 1993, she holds dual German and British nationality. Her career includes notable stints in several top international leagues.

In Germany, she played for Hoffenheim, while in the United States she represented the Colorado Rapids Women. She later moved to England, where she spent six seasons in the top division—first with Reading, and then, starting in 2020, with Leicester City. With the Foxes, she established herself as a key figure in defense, becoming a leader and reliable presence on the pitch, even wearing the captain’s armband.

Howard also boasts several appearances for Germany’s U20 national team, with whom she won a silver medal at the 2012 U20 World Cup, as well as over 60 caps for the Scottish senior national team, which she has represented since 2017.

She represents more than a position on the pitch. She represents a shift in how the game is played, seen, and lived. At FC Como Women, every player carries the identity of the club: fearless, ambitious, and unapologetically present.
